D1: CHON KEMIN VALLEY

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive to the magnificent Chon Kemin Valley. This breathtaking valley is where we'll spend the first night — in a locally-run guesthouse overlooking majestic mountains, alpine meadows, and crystal-clear glacial lakes. As the sun sets, you'll experience authentic Kyrgyz village traditions, as well as a cozy bonfire under the stars.

D2: KONORCHEK CANYONS -
ISSYK KUL LAKE

Gear up for an exciting day! We head to the magnificent Issyk Kul Lake, famously known as 'the Pearl of the Tien Shan'. Along the way, we'll hike through the extraordinary Konorchek canyons, a maze of red sandstone formations that look truly out of this world. In the evening, we'll check into one of Kyrgyzstan's beautiful lakeside hotels, where you can unwind on the beach and visit a lively lakeside bar — the perfect end to an action-packed day.

D3: ISSYK KUL LAKE -CHONG AK SUU GORGE - KYRCHYN GORGE

Enjoy a scenic drive along the northern shore of Issyk Kul Lake, with views of stunning blue waters, snow-capped peaks, and charming fishing villages. 

Our first stop is the Chong Ak Suu Gorge, where we'll take a quick hike to a charming mountain lake. We'll have a picnic at one of the most beautiful places on earth, with breathtaking vistas of the Tien Shan Mountains. In the afternoon, we continue our journey through the picturesque Kyrchyn Gorge, famous for hosting the annual Nomad Games.

 

Our destination for the night is Karakol town, on the eastern tip of the lake. Explore the town's historical sites, including the unique Dungan Mosque and Orthodox Cathedral, a great way to immerse in rich Kyrgyz culture.

D4: KARAKOL - TERSKEY ALA TOO RANGE - ALTYN ARASHAN VALLEY

Nestled high in the majestic Terskey Ala Too Range, reaching the Altyn Arashan Valley requires a special mode of transportation. We'll hop aboard Russian military cars or UAZ 4WD vehicles. Don't forget to take out your sunnies for some cool photos!

 

Altyn Arashan is renowned for its untouched nature and rejuvenating hot springs, perfect for a leisurely dip. We'll spend some time exploring this fantastic natural haven — with the option to hike along the river, go horseriding through the meadow, or simply relax and take in the incredible surroundings.

After dinner, the fun doesn't end. For those who are keen, we'll cap off the night by visiting a hidden speakeasy bar in Karakol.

D5: JETI OGUZ GORGE - EAGLE HUNTING - KADJI SAI

After a leisurely morning, we'll hit the road and head down the southern shore of the stunning Issyk Kul lake. Our first stop is the famous Jeti Oguz Gorge, with its unique red rock formations that resemble seven bulls, before continuing on to the Barskoon Gorge, with its cascading waterfalls. After a brief hike to one of the falls, indulge in authentic Kyrgyz cuisine inside a traditional yurt.

 

Then onto one of the highlights of our journey — meeting local eagle hunters and listening to their hunting stories! Watch the nomads train with their majestic Golden Eagles, who fly off to hunt foxes and other small prey.

D6: PARROTS PASS - SON KUL LAKE

Embrace the nomadic lifestyle as we venture to the stunning Son Kul Lake - the second largest in Kyrgyzstan, nestled high at an altitude of 3,016 meters. Our drive takes us through the scenic pass, offering breathtaking views of the Central Asian landscape. Upon arrival at our yurt camp, savor a delicious lunch before exploring the lush alpine meadow by foot or horseback. Locals consider this to be one of the most beautiful places in the country. As the sun sets, gather around a cozy bonfire and admire the endless starry night sky, before resting for the night in your traditional yurt.

D7: NOMADIC LIFE AT SON KUL LAKE

Indulge in a leisurely morning before embarking on a short hike to a secret viewpoint, with panoramic views of the tranquil lake and ancient stone paintings. Watch local players demonstrate the exhilarating national horse game, Kok Boru, a cherished tradition among nomadic communities. In the afternoon, we'll have the unique opportunity to visit nomadic families, immersing ourselves in their fascinating lifestyles and savoring the flavors of traditional national drinks and snacks.

 

As night falls, we'll watch the sunset at Son Kul Lake - a breathtaking sight as the sun slowly disappears behind the surrounding mountains, casting the sky in shades of pink, purple, and orange.

D8: KOSHKOR - BISHKEK 

After an unforgettable highland adventure, it's time to make our way back to Bishkek city. On our journey, we'll make a stop in Kochkor town, where you can watch talented local artisans creating traditional felt carpets. Get hands-on and immerse yourself in this ancient craft, guided by the artisans themselves.

 

In Bishkek, we have the opportunity to explore some of the city's hidden sites — a private tour of a local craft brewery, a speakeasy bar crawl, and more. The perfect way to experience the modern side of Kyrgyzstan, together with your travel buddies and new friends.

D9: HOME SWEET HOME

Make the most of your final morning in Kyrgyzstan with a cultural city tour. We'll explore the vibrant city centre, taking in iconic sights like the main square Ala Too, White House, Opera and Ballet Theatre building, Oak Park, and the bustling local bazaar. Immerse in the lively atmosphere, enjoy some local snacks, and grab last-minute souvenirs of your time in the land of the celestial mountains.
